Letter from Gwennie Wilkes Dear Friends, It’s really got to be the weather again and what a variety we have had indeed! A week ago it was torrential rain with thunder and lightening and rain kept on coming. Our roofs gather moss because of the rough surface of the tiles, then the birds peck at it and down it comes and fills the gutter; we had it all didn’t we including hailstones. My patio was about 3” deep in water Oh dear!!! The odd thing was that my daughter in Harlestone had just a shower, I guess it was good for the gardens and it has certainly made the beans grow, the flowers are looking good too and also the weeds! If like me your eyes aren’t as good as they used to be, I put the lights on when the sky is grey and there is no sunshine, we have to be grateful for opticians and spectacles! There are lots of lovely flowers around now, I have some beautiful dahlias in the garden and today I spotted some little cyclamens in flower; the kayfer lily is coming out too and yesterday I had a woodpecker in the garden. It was nice to see something different from the sparrows, pigeons and magpies! There is so much to chat about in the garden. I hope you are all keeping reasonably well and can enjoy the sunshine when it is out. Best wishes to you all and good health for the months ahead. God Bless you all with love Gwennie Wilkes
